On Thursday, April 9th, 2026, GLVFA sponsored its annual BBQ lunch for the Baldomero Lopez Florida State Veterans Home, Land O Lakes, Florida, for its veteran residents and staff members.
The picture gallery (below) is a nice representation of the day. The veterans were so happy to receive us, as our GLVFA members were to be with this great group of fellow veterans!
This event was a joyous time for all, from coordinating the food and beverages to preparing the serving area, icing the drinks, and serving plates of delicious BBQ pork, beef, potato salad, green beans, cornbread, and cookies for dessert.
This event was a small token of our appreciation to fellow veterans that served our great country. Being in the twilight of their lives at this wonderful facility, today was a day of service and honor to them but also to ourselves.
