Did you know there is a small piece of WW2 history right here in our GLVF back yard? Most people don't know that there is a bunker located near Brooksville airport which was built as part of the new Brooksville Army airfield in 1942. Those of you who have driven by the bunker and noticed it probably thought it was an old storage bunker. Good guess but it wasn't used for that. What it was used for, from a historical perspective, is now being brought to light as an upcoming Hernando County war memorial. For those members who utilize the VA benefits website "eBenefits", the website which is known as a long-time VA disability claims site, is moving much of the site's content to a new central site for VA disability, health, and services known as VA.gov to improve the Veteran experience.
