Our own GLVFA member Mr. Bob Henry presented to the membership on various updates on technical news that was useful for all to hear about (security, new features, etc.) as well as briefed on the Spectrum roll out in terms of issues members might have faced in the process (equipment issues, service issues, tips and tricks (if any), etc.).

The U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, in partnership with the Tampa Bay Rays, are hosting a special VetFest event!

When:

Tropicana Field (MLB - Tampa Bay Rays)
1 Tropicana Drive, St. Petersburg, FL (straight down rt 19)

Free

VETFEST was held to educate and inform Veterans about the PACT Act and to provide onsite services to include VA health care enrollment, toxic exposure screenings, VA claims assistance, VISN 8 Clinical Contact Center, women’s health, mental health, whole health, Vet Center, and more. Attendees also had opportunities to receive guided tours of Tropicana Field and enter drawings for free game tickets, compliments of the Rays.  

Representing VA at the event were personnel from the St. Petersburg Veterans Benefits Administration Regional Office, along with teams from the VISN 8 Network Office, Bay Pines VA Healthcare SystemJames A. Haley Veterans’ Hospital, and Vet Center.

Glenlakes Country Club honored this years' July 4th celebration with a spectacular fireworks show conducted over the Clubhouse Driving Range and Lake.   Below are selected pictured from the event.

Our own Glenlakes resident and WW2 veteran Roger A. Howard, passed away May 16, 2023.  GLVFA and the GL community is saddened by our loss of Roger, he will be forever remembered.  Our condolences go out to his wife Beverly, son Doug, and the rest of the Howard family.
