🪑 Seating: Bring a folding chair.  If a previous participant, ask for a spot in the Ambassador VIP area in the baggage claim area

Veterans, we hope that you were able to bring your friends and family for free pulled pork sliders and cheezie potatoes from Mission BBQ with fixin’s from the Clubhouse, from 2 to 4PM at the GlenLakes Clubhouse.  Mission BBQ uses customized military transport trucks known as "Bam-Bam" (Big and Mobile BBQ Assault Machine) equipped with large 7-foot-long built-in smokers on the truck bed for off-site catering.  Great camaraderie and fellowship for all! 


We announced that we still had a few golfer slots available for our Monday, November 9th, "Veterans Day" Scramble.  We also can use a few more good bottles of wine and booze gifted for our Booze Cooler raffle at that event.  Please continue to help us beat last year's $30K in grants to local veterans.

Our very own GlenLakes veterans panel members discussed their active-duty experiences, and the effects on their current lives since serving their country.  John Grove, our Chaplain, also provided encouraging remarks of remembrance about the tribulations of September 11, 2001.  Don't forget to consider contributing to the Tunnel to Towers Foundation.

On Friday, July 3, 2026, at 8PM, Dick Rowland and Linn Craton hoisted our new memorial flag while Curt Reilly spoke…  “Today we gather for a moment that is both solemn and celebratory: the dedication of this flagpole in honor of the 250th anniversary of our great nation, the United States of America.
 
At every step of the way stands the American flag.  This flag has flown over a nation that began as an audacious experiment — thirteen colonies daring to claim liberty in a world ruled by empires. It has flown over battlefields where ordinary men and women did extraordinary things. It has flown over ships at sea, over dusty outposts, over farms and factories, over schools and courthouses, over the quiet front porches of families waiting for loved ones to come home.  Some did not.

And now, it will fly here—on this new pole we dedicate today—reminding all who pass by that freedom is not an inheritance; it is a responsibility.”
