Jim Hansen
Jim Hansen, E4, Air Force, Thailand (Recon) & Carswell AFB (Strategic Air Command 7th Bomb Wing) 65-68, was honored in 2023. It was a inspiring experience for Jim, and he noted a special fondness of receiving handwritten mail wishing him and all the flight's honorees a thoughtful "thank you", as well as everyone was met with a boisterous welcome upon their return to St. Petersburg Airport at the day's end. He remarked that there was no less than several hundred people welcoming him with hugs, backslapping, and handshaking! Additionally, there were the "Santa Clause non-precision drill team" (see pictures above), police officers, bagpipers, military personnel, and even a girl's group in period dress offering "warm welcome back squeezes!". Aside from the main pictures he took that are at the top of this webpage, the following are pictures of his experience being honored in Washington, D.C., accompanying him was his "Guardian" longtime friend Anthony P. Derieux (Sgt, USMC).
