GLVFA-Aided Programs
Where does your generous donation go? Below are the main programs GLVFA supports, in addition to local area veteran organization such as the DAV, VFW, Marine Corps League and American Legion.
Veterans PTSD Programs
This program allows patriots from across the country to make a difference in the lives of local veterans in need. Many of our veterans suffer from PTSD and other life-altering injuries. This program helps area veterans with their PTSD mental and physical rehabilitation which aids in increased confidence, enabling veterans to enjoy an active and healthy lifestyle again. This is accomplished by GLVFA awarding monetary grants, funded by your donations, to several local organizations that specialize in assisting veterans with their disabling traumatic disabilities resulting from their military service.
Wreathes Across America
Wreaths Across America is a national program that ensures that no one is forgotten. GLVFA is proud to be a part of this annual program that lays wreathes at our national cemeteries. Foor GLVFA, we sponsor wreath purchases each year and personally lay the wreathes we purchase on gravesites at the Florida National Cemetery at Bushnell, FL
Baldomero Lopez Memorial Veterans Nursing Home Program
From pain management to social and recreational activities, this nursing home is specially designed to take care of all its veteran residents’ needs. The staff is specially trained to assist those with Alzheimer’s disease and other dementia. GLVFA supports this home through annual grants that provide funds for specific needs of the home such as supplying new computers, veteran "shadow boxes", and other veteran-direct support.
